Follow the steps below to grant access to your content from a new external LMS:
- Click the New Client button.
- In the appearing tab, fill in the client’s internal reference or code, its name, and optionally, a description.
- Now, decide whether you will use generic connectors or connectors linked to this client. Generic connectors are based on the client’s LMS URL and are the simplest option, as they can be shared with multiple clients.
- If you know the URL where the client’s LMS is located, select the Use Generic Connectors option and in the Source field, enter the most generic part of the URL, for example, “campus.xyz.com”.
- If it’s not possible to know the remote LMS URL or the URL of that LMS cannot be used to distinguish it from other clients (e.g., multi-tenant LMS like CornerStone), choose the Use Linked Connectors option. In this case, no URL needs to be completed for this client.
- Finally, in the Geographical Zone dropdown, you can select the zone where your client is located to serve content from the nearest location.
- Click the Save button, and the client will be added to the list.
- An assistant will then indicate that this client does not yet have assigned licenses. Click the Yes button to continue and set which content this client will have access to and how many available or assigned licenses this client will have.
- In the dialog that appears, you can view the folder structure of the [Connectors] section, where all your connectors are organized. Select the folder and locate the product you created in a previous step.
- Check the product and at the bottom, enter the number of available licenses you want to assign to this client for the selected product(s). You must also specify the duration of the licenses, and optionally, you can specify a deadline from which no user can access the selected product(s).
- Click the Add button, and see how in the list of licenses assigned to this client, you now have access to the connector you created earlier with the specified number of licenses.
- Now, simply download the connector for this product for the client to whom you just assigned licenses. In the list of licenses, select the product/connector you want to download, and click the Download Connector button.
- In the panel that appears, you can download the connector in various formats (multi-SCO or in separate files) and with the option of anonymizing data. Select any of the formats and save the connector file to a folder on your computer.
- Finally, send the connectors to your client so that they can upload them to their LMS platform, as if it were a standard SCORM/xAPI package.
- From this point on, users on that platform will be able to access the specified content, limited to the number of licenses you have indicated. Users, once they access the content, will have the time specified in the license duration.
♠ Once you’ve reached this point, you can choose to register more clients, share your content through other channels, or simply check the consumption reports of your clients:
